Why Northern Ireland?
Part of the United Kingdom but with a history all its own, Northern Ireland is a fascinating destination. Its urban centers combine cozy pubs and historic sights with trendy restaurants and a cutting-edge arts scene. Meanwhile, the countryside boasts dramatic coastline and picturesque scenery. No two parts of the country are more than a two-hour drive apart, so it’s easy to get out and explore. Students traveling here with World Endeavors will get to sample from a wide variety of academic offerings and join in a vibrant and diverse student culture, and on weekends and holidays it is easy to travel to other parts of the British Isles or take an adventure to continental Europe.

Live in Belfast, Northern Ireland
Belfast has reinvented itself in recent years, recovering from the Irish “Troubles” to become one of the most up-and-coming cities of the United Kingdom. The city center has seen massive redevelopment, and locals and tourists alike now flock to the city’s museums, concert halls, and art galleries. Known as a center of higher education, Belfast caters to students from all over the world, and the lively, diverse student presence helps to define the creative and friendly local culture. There’s history to see here, too, as Belfast has long been an industrial and economic center of the United Kingdom. An abundance of charming local restaurants, cafes, and pubs keep the social life of Belfast interesting, while just outside the city are the beautiful hills, valleys, and coastline of Ireland.
 
Program Snapshot

Academics : After the successful completion of the program, academic credit and transcripts will be issued by Queen’s University Belfast, a fully accredited university. World Endeavors staff work with students and their academic advisors to ensure that students earn credit for courses taken abroad.

Students applying to this program must have:
  • Applicants must have a GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or the equivalent.
  • English fluency is required.


Housing and Participant Life : Single, furnished self-catered student accommodations are provided. Students applying on time are likely to be accommodated in a University residence hall, as preference is given to international students in the allocation of University accommodation. All University housing is within walking distance of the main campus. Students have access to kitchen facilities to prepare meals, and there are also many restaurants and cafes nearby.
