Program Description:
Student Teach in Ecuador

Through our partnership with CEDEI, SAU students have the opportunity to student teach in Ecuador during their final semester. Students are placed in classrooms at the CEDEI school, a bi-lingual, inclusive and multicultural school which educates primary, elementary, middle and high school students. Student teachers receive 7 credits for an 8-week placement.

To enhance their cultural learning, students will live with Ecuadorian host families during their placement.

More about CEDEI School:
In CEDEI School, activities which focus on the construction of knowledge, experience of everyday situations, experimenting with content, values and attitudes and developing procedures to solve problems are provided in both English and Spanish. English is used as an instrumental language to develop proficiency in that language while Spanish is used to reinforce the native language. Working to meet these goals are national and international teachers and a multidisciplinary team providing therapeutic intervention. These professionals provide a valuable link between school and home.

Contact the The Center for International Education for more details concerning program costs and supplemental application deadlines.
